What's the difference between Social Studies and History?

Education studies or Education whats the difference?

• im a year 12 student and i have a chance to go to Bath university to try out some lectures so i was wondering if anyone could tell me what the difference between the lectures Education studies and education is? Thanks

  You will have to look at the Bath website / details of the lectures to gain an idea of the structure of the course the lectures are related. I think generally Education will be a degree very closely related to teaching, and may even include the qualifications required to teach straight away, whereas a degree in Education Studies will be very broad and often nothing to do with teaching. You would look at the psychological aspects of education and school, sociological impacts of things such as private education, and many other aspects. However, this is by no means always the case, for example at Cambridge they only offer Education, but the course is how I described Education Studies. You must remember titles of degrees at a university are just that - titles at a university, and the content of a degree with the same title will vary hugely from one institution to another.
