Need help! Where do I move?

  • Krishna Your Open Question Show me another » Need help deciding where to move!? I will be moving to Northeast US this April/May. I can't seem to make up my mind on which place I should choose to move. The few options I'm considering are: Maryland, Virginia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York. I have absolutely no idea where to move, and am considering the following parameters: -Job Opportunities (Software Development field) -Schools and Colleges (Both high schools, and large top-ranked universities. I don't want just "above average" schooling systems, but "extremely high standards of school" systems, as in, really good school districts) -Nice neighborhoods, friendly people, neighbors, and good community. (I've heard NJ doesn't rank very well here...why?) -Well above average household incomes. -Also, it should be in close proximity of some major large city. -Low Crime Rates. -Good roads, amenities, public transport. -Nice homes, large plots. So out of the states I've mentioned, if you could give me your opinions of each state, I would be very grateful :) PS: Massachusetts and Maryland (maybe Virginia too) are really good (I have been told). Why not New Jersey and New York?? Are they lacking in any way?
