When to start applying to college?

When should i start applying for college?

  • im a senior in high school now and i took my SAT in may and didn't make the score i wanted, yet it was still good i just know that i can do way better than the score i made. Well, I don't understand when i should start applying for college. Do i wait and take my SAT again and then apply? Or Apply now? I'm kinda new at this cause im the oldest in my family & it's been a long time since my parents went to college and they dont remember anything so i need as much help as possible. (: please and thank you.

I am a senior as well. I didn't take my ACT yet but i will in september. You can apply for college now actually. But the best time to apply would be before december 2009 and no later than april 2010. Look at your college top's that you choose for deadlines for scholarships and stuff. Don't forget about your transcripts exc.... My plan is to apply on paper then by december i will send them an electronic application with updated materials...such as ACT scores, grades, extracuriclar

Don't wait till you take the SAT again. Most college deadlines are going to be January 1st, 2010. Some will be as late as March 1st. You want to fill out your applications and have them sent in by January 1st. (my daughter set up a deadline of december 25th for herself) Sign up to take the SAT again, better do that ASAP. Then on your applications it will have a spot for your SAT score or what date you last took the exam. Once the colleges have your application they set up a file for you. any other information or documents that come in are put in your file. My daughter was unable to get her letters of recommendation till the middle of January-so she just sent them out then and they were added to her files

hey since u just know how to make your effort better ....u must give it a try one more time......but yes u must start ur college as soon as possible because u may have to face the question in your placement and interviews
