Can an English student study at an American university?

Good university for international students to study English Literature/Writing?

• Hello there! My friend and I graduated from University this summer (we're linguists-interpreters) and feel that we want to study our beloved English (and, duh, American) literature on its homeland. I'm an aspiring writer and she simply loves literature and thinks of trying her hand in criticism. We've started searching for the right place for both of us and narrowed our search to following states: Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Virginia, South and North Carolina and last but not least Georgia. We're trying to find an institution that will be loyal and loving and will be willing to provide us with general financial aid if we prove worthy. We already have some preferences but could really use couple of advices. If you study/ied Literature or you belong to English department or (even better) international student studying Literature in state university in the US - drop us a line, be a darling.   Almost all US colleges are going to have a decent english department. and most are not going to have much in the way of financial aid to offer international students. try www.a2zcolleges.com click on majors/ pick a major/ click on a state to see all schools in that state with that major. do not limit yourself to public state schools. http://www.usnews.com/education for info You will need to take the SAT for undergrad, and the GRE for Grad school. www.collegeboard.com You can go on any US schools' web site to see requirements for international students. tuition and room and board costs will be there too. plan on $30,000 per year. Look to see if they have their international student population listed. email the admissions office with any questions. Purdue University in Indiana international student population is 12%, University of Michigan is zero.
