What grades do colleges look at?

How do colleges look at your high school grades?

• I know this is a little early to ask about colleges since i am currently a freshmen in high school. Okay anyway, I am currently in my zoned high school in new york which is a really bad school and REALLY easy grades. Theres this girl who failed all her living environment tests, comes late, and ends up getting an 85 which to me makes NO sense at all. Our school class participation counts the most. My friends are telling me not to transfer out of "John Bowne High School" because its easy grades and colleges will chose you more easily. A lot of dumb people are getting high grades in my school, I mean no offense but its the TRUTH. Won't colleges also look at your high school grading policies? That would be unfair for other harder high schools and it would make no sense for a whole bunch of dumb people to get to a good college. So how do colleges look at your high school grades? I also don't know what G.P.A is and college credits

  Colleges also look at your SAT scores. which may be low for you if you are not getting a good education at the HS. You won't be ready for college level work.
