How to go on student exchange to England?

How do i tell my parents i want to go to england as a foriegn exchange student?

  • Any tip or advice.i was thinking about making a slide show

  • Answer:

Gather all your information - (your guidance counselor might be able to help) - Have all the answers to all of their questions -- And then ask if you could have a "family meeting" - that you want to discuss something with them -- If they say "No" at first -- act mature -- don't pout, cry and stomp your feet -- that only reinforces that you are NOT mature enough to go. But ask them what it would take for them to approve your going -- (Better grades, raise money, be more responsible for yourself, act more mature, etc) -- Then ask if they will give you a chance - and how long ( one month, 3 months, 6 months, next year) - I seriously doubt any parent would say "yes" right off the bat -- without talking to each other privately and to others - and doing some research -- so, ask them to read your material and talk with your counselor, etc -- and if you all can talk about it again in 2 weeks -- (and write it on the calendar) -- It would help if you knew of someone who had done this - or was going to do it - Good luck -

Mom, Dad the education system here in the US sucks please send me to England where i can get a better education.

That's a really good idea :) I would try being extra good before you show it to them, so that they're in a good mood with you. :P

You don't need to go over the top, just sit them down and explain to them that you are responsible and trustworthy enough to go on a foreign exchange trip. Explain why you want to go, the benefits of going and all the safety measures that have been put in for the trip. Parents just worry about things like this so you just need to calm their worries and negotiate with them. Bonus tip: STAY CALM! If they start to disagree or say no, don't get angry and start having an argument that will get you no where, keep calm and continue to explain how safe it is and how mature you are. Hope this helps, if you get to go have fun:)

Mom,Dad.I love you!
