How can I open up to people?

How do poor people open cans without can openers?

  • I have always pondered the great problems of the world. And recently it dawned upon me that if those of lesser financial position have no means for food, how would they be able to afford a can opener? Often people donate canned food and other non-perishables to homeless people and these often come in cans. Now if you were hungry, wouldn't your first priority be food and not a can opener? Are poor people secretly not poor and just conning us out of our Campbell's soup and canned fruits? Personally, I believe that underground, the poor people of the world run a large money printing ring and just want free food. I mean, how else would they be able to open cans if they were in fact poor? Now you may say that they would use a knife but on the streets knives can easily be contaminated with communicable diseases and since poor people don't have health insurance they can't get better. So, that rules the use of knives in opening cans out. Any other thoughts? Please, I'd love to hear other people's theories and ideas.

Its called pop tops.

The only reason you have cans with pop top openers is cuz you have molaaa, not everyone (aka the unfortunate souls living on the street) have this benefit! Plus, the poster makes valid points. If poor people can afford a can opener, then why should we be giving them cans to begin with? $1.50 is a lot of money for a poor son of a ***** who cares about booze and whores more than he does with feeding himself. I think that what it comes down to is that poor people are scamming us because either they are already rich and taking other's moneyss or they are making us pay for food so they can afford sex and drugs! what an outrage, i say we protest. yah

If you can't afford a can opener, how are you going to heat up the soup? A can opener is $1 at the dollar store.

A knife can open a can without giving you a disease. Not sure what you think they're doing with that knife. Also, not sure what you think they're doing with that food in that can. Usually they're going to cook it, which would kill any bacteria you think the knife is going to spread. Also, when I recently went to find a can opener, it was about $1.50 for the hand-powered kind, and $3 for a very primitive type with the twisty handle. The hand-powered kind is a royal pain, but it will eventually open your can. Poor people can afford a $3 can opener if it means opening all their food for the rest of time (or until that can opener breaks). Also, I see more and more cans with pop tops. The three cans in my cupboard right now all have pop tops.
