What are good conversation activities for a large High School ESL class?

Hello. I teach some conversational ESL to classes with around 40 students in China. What are some suitable conversational ESL activities for a class of this size?

Thats a big class.... You can ask questions and that will bring you places.like *Tell me something that i should know about you * How old is old? *When does a kid stops being a kid? *How do you define succes? *If you could be an animal what would you be and why *If you could travel, where would you go and why *What would you like to work on and what are you preparing for it? *you can make debates in class, dive the class into 8 groups (5 each onez) and make two teams talk about a issue, one against one for it topics can be... legalinzing abortion, Students shooulndt get homework, legalizing marijuana, etc. And give then time to prepare...

Show them a funny youtube video or a funny interest news story (short, not too hard depending on their level) and put them into groups with cards. Get them thinking and talking first, then they are not so shy. The braver ones can chip in during the class discussion. Something current and kinda hip--popular culture, not embarrassing to culture etc.
