What does it take to become a High School P.E. Teacher?

• The reason I want to be a PE teacher is to coach the High School Soccer team. But what Kind of credentials do I need, and what Level of Education to I have to Have. Is an ASSOCIATES DEGREE enough? WHAT DO I NEED???

  To be a P.E. teacher you need a minimum of a 4 year college degree. To be a high school soccer coach you do not need any degree or college education, but it helps. You just need to apply for the job and get hired. Usually by local contract if no one in the school system wants the job, then the Board can interview and hire other qualified applicants. You would need a background check through the FBI, a fingerprint check, and sign forms that you are not a terrorist. If the position is a paid position, you'd have other forms also. You will also be required to be up to date in CPR and First Aid requirements.
