Answer:
Yes, I think so because not everyone in the world can speak English, and it's always a possibility that we'll want to go on vacation to another country or we'll come across a foreigner who needs help. Also, it helps us notice our own grammatical structure in English more when we look at another language's structure. It helps us to be able to communicate with other cultures and also helps us to not only know one language. Besides, isn't it fun to know another language? I'm in 10th grade and I've been learning Spanish since 6th grade, and I plan on taking this language until college as a minor if that's possible. It's so fun to know what people are saying when I hear them speaking Spanish at the store and my parents don't understand what they're saying. I love Spanish, but I understand it is difficult to learn languages for some people, but I think just a little bit of an education in a language is okay, unless you want to do more.

Definitely. The United States is severely lacking in that department because we isolate ourselves due to our geography. Most Europeans can speak at least two languages. Even in Mexico all college level students speak English or French to a certain degree. It is reasonable because knowing only one language limits your opportunities in the job market and on an intellectual level.
