What do you have to major in college to become a middle school science teacher?

    Teacher training all depends in what State you live--they are all similar, however each State Board of Education sets the requirement for their state. In most states middle school teachers (grades 4-9) choose any 2 areas from the following: science, social studies, math, language arts. High school teachers are grades 9-12 and requires different certifications, student teaching experiences, etc. It would take about an additional 6mo-12 mo to switch from one to the other.
