Are math teachers in high/ higher demand than other teachers?

Do you think its a good idea for me to be a math teacher? Will they need math teachers 20 to 50 years from now?

  • My passion is to teach, i want a class, and i want students, and i love math...im not the best, im an A and B student....but i love it, i don't wanna teach art, computers, coooking, english or history or science JUST MATH algebra, geomoety, claculus, im not the best, do you think thats a problem if im good just not the best? and what about the economy, will it need math teachers years from now, im a freshmen at college, they say math teachers are in demand because its always changing

  • Answer:

Math teachers are in demand because very few people choose to major in math and become teachers. Look around you- if your area is anything like mine, there are babies everywhere. After things calmed down from the recession, people seemed to feel confident enough to have children again. That means there will be lots of kids starting school in 5 years. No matter how bad the economy is, the government is responsible for educating children. So yes, there will be demand for math teachers in the future.
