How can I prep for nursing school?

How can I get financial aid for nursing school?

• I am 21 years old. I have never had a job so I have never done my taxes. I can't go off of my moms taxes because I have not lived with her since I was 17. I have a young son and his dad takes care of us. But I want to go to college. I saved money and paid for my nurse assisting certification. Now for college I need help to pay. I plan on starting work as soon as possible. I'm just waiting for my background check from the state board of nursing and it can take a few months. I have acquired all the requirements I need for the Maricopa Community colleges nursing program, I just need a way to pay for tuition. I plan on filling out fafsa this week I just know that they want info for taxes and I have none of that info to provide. P.S. I tried talking to my mom to use her info awhile back but she makes to much and it can affect her student loans. Please any advice would be great.

  What you will need... is to put on FAFSA that you did not file because you were not required to file (no income)... and then you will need a letter from your dad because he needs to explain that he supported you you file as independent student (you have a child) you won't be required to use your dad's or your mom's tax info Your problem is going to be: Filing FAFSA next week (or even this week) will mean you are filing FAFSA for academic year 2012-2013..... that means you don't start school with Financial Aid until August (the beginning of 2012-2013 academic year) If you work at getting all the paperwork together, then you should be ready to start school in August In the meantime, you could go ahead & use your CNA to get a job
