Does anyone know any cheap apartments off of UNF's Campus?

Does financial aid cover off campus apartments at NMU (northern michigan university)?

• me and my friend are trying to move in together up in marquette. she is a student at NMU and im not so that means we can not get an on campus apartment together and shes worried that financial wont cover an off campus apartment. does anyone know if her financial aid will cover it or not PLEASE HELP

  Financial aid is based on the estimated full cost of attendance, including housing. So, the financial aid your friend gets should cover off-campus housing just as well as it covers on-campus housing. The only challenge is that any financial aid money goes to the school first, and pays any balance for tuition and fees, and then she could request any remaining money be deposited to her checking account. The timing of this may make it difficult to have money for rent/security prior to moving in, and may also be more difficult to budget paying for an apartment each month, instead of per semester..
