Where can I get Student Loan?

• Hello, I am currently a student at SUNY Buffalo studying Computer Engineering, I've been here for an entire semester already and am currently in my second, as a freshman. Though I really like it here, I want to pursue my dream of becoming a pilot. Federal Student Aid will not cover flight cost. Where can I get a large student loan that I don't need a Co-signer for? I already tried Chase Bank, but I was turned down. Thank for the help.

  Your chances of getting a student loan without a co-signer at age 18 or 19 are nil. Beyond that: why would you want to incur such a large student debt loan at such a young age? You'll spend twenty, thirty or even forty years of your professional life attempting to pay off such a debt, and you'll find yourself severely limited in life choices: jobs, career, marriage, a home, children, etc. Do this: continue on at your current college. Borrow as little as possible in securing your BS. Only take out federally subsidized Stafford loans if absolutely necessary. When you graduate, if you're still interested in become a pilot, look for commissioning opportunities as an officer in the Air Force, Army, Navy or Marine Corp., and apply for pilot training. Alternatively, once you graduate and are settled into your career, pay for flight lessons. Whatever you do, don't go into massive student loan debt! Good luck.
