Best schools for Fashion Photography?

Recommend any schools with Fashion/Fine Art Photography majors?

  • I am looking for good schools with either a fashion or fine art photography major. I got accepted into the Corcoran in Dc, but 120k in total of debt doesn't seem like a good start in life to me. I've been searching endlessly, but all I get is the art institues, and I don't want to go there.

    May I suggest that you major in business at your local community college or state university and take fashion or photography as electives. A student does not need to take photography as a major to learn fine art photography. An informal apprenticeship is much better. Neither fine art photography nor fashion majors lead to making a living for the great majority of students. You are correct that paying $120,000 in cash or debt to major in one of these fields is not a good idea. Best wishes.

I can't personally recommend any specific schools but a good place to start might be collegeboard.com. Using their search function you can narrow it down to specific majors and/or departments. This should help you avoid just getting art institutes or for profit schools that will likely come up first on a major search engine.

ALL schools offering Fashion or Fine Art end up sending many graduates into chronic unemployment or careers at Taco Bell. Think long and hard before you decide to waste your undergrad years and your money this way.
