Can I get into Ivy League colleges?

Would I be able to get into IVY League colleges?

  • Right out of high school. I tried college it was a community college right in my local community. I hated it. Mostly because I still lived with my parents and hand to live to their rules. I decided that I would rather work to have things that I wanted. I picked up a decent job, with in a year I was a supervisor of 16 employees did the hiring and firing, assisted with payroll etc. I realized that I should try school again so at the age on 19 I tried again just like last time i made it about 2 weeks before i got sick of my parents trying to over look my school work. Both times I received F's in my classes because i never withdrew from them i just stopped going. I took two years off worked my butt off bought my first house the taste of freedom and responsibility urged me to try one more time at school. I currently have a 4.0 GPA in Business Administration. Along with that I have retaken all of my courses that I failed in the past and received an A or A+. So my cumulative GPA is also a 4.0. This winter mini is my last class and on pace for an A. While doing my school work i was also active in a business club at my college along with that I managed 76 credits (old F's and new requirements) in 3 semesters and and one summer. With all this considered what kind of schools should i be able to get into. I am from the north east. However, would like to go to the best school i got into

  • Answer:

Some of the ivies don't accept transfer students, and those that do only take 1-2% of them. Also, many don't offer business majors. So you're down to only a few schools you can even apply to from the ivies, with a very, very poor shot at them - because everyone applying has a poor shot at them. I suggest a local state school instead.

I'll be blunt. There is absolutely no chance of you getting into an Ivy League school. But you could get in to a decent four-year college. But don't be in such a hurry to change. You have found your path to success. Don't go changing course now. Keep getting A's. Here is my advice: What happened happened. You cannot change it. You have found a successful path, but like many people who had trouble in school and had overbearing parents, you're focusing on the Ivy League as the way to show yourself and your parents that you're better than your parents and your old grades suggested. Deal with your parents. Deal with the negative messagees they stuck in your head. Leaving a school where you have found success to go to another school is not going to change those messages in your head.
