Which is the best university in the UK for languages?

Can I study Medicine in University without studying (no) science subjects at all in the secondary school?

• So, right... Initially, I was really thinking about Law studies and chose my subjects as following: Maths English History French Business Accounting These seem really okay for me, especially for Corporate Law. (I think these subjects are quite good for Law, but if you think / know otherwise - please comment on that). But now I'm beginning to doubt it and wondering if Medicine would be better for me... However, I don't know what to do as I chose no science subjects at all. At first I thought about Physics, but chose Accounting instead and just now realized, that I really should have chosen Chemistry (I heard it's a must for many courses...) Should I try to change (which will be hard at this point of time - and if I manage to change, I will have missed quite a large part of the course...) Accounting / French to chemistry or leave them as they are (because, now, I'm not 100% sure what course to choose in University) I'm in 5th class (which is second last year in the secondary school - I have 1 year and 5 months left) So, are there any universities in UK, US, Ireland or any other English-speaking country, that would allow to study basic science for a year or two (I think that's called Pre-Medical course or Foundation course) and then I would be able to study the Medicine itself and become a doctor? Or any strategies, other (any) ways etc? I really need to know this, because it is bugging me and I don't want to make a wrong choice and later regret that all my life :) Oh Yeah, and I also heard something about work/life experience when going onto Medicine course in University. It involves something like working in a hospital etc. - is it compulsory requirement for universities in order to study medicine or is it just a BIG plus? (And are there any "hidden" requirements like that for Law? :) ) Science subjects never were my favourite, I prefer languages, have some interest in History, Maths and Business studies are quite interesting. Judging by that, I would be better Lawyer than Doctor, but now, somehow, Medicine became more attractive than it was before... And by putting extra work, I think I could really do well in Chemistry - grades are not a problem - it's just choosing the right course :) So, I would appreciate any comments, tips, especially if it answers my question in Bold :)

  There are some unis in the UK that offer medicine with a foundation year ( 6 years instead of 5) Here are some of the universities that do a foundation year: University of Bristol University of Dundee University of Southampton University of London, King's College University of Cardiff University of Sheffield University of Manchester University of London, St. Georges' (in association with Kingston University) You NEED to demonstrate your interest in the medical field.
