Where can you get more SAT tests?

Can I get into any good universities with a combined SAT score from 2 tests of 1540 and a GPA of 2.85?

  • I took two SAT tests and the first time I got 490-Reading, 470-Math, 530-Writing. The second time I got 470-Reading, 520-Math, 450-Writing. I took the best scores from each test for each section as most colleges do and I came up with a combined score of 1540. I want to try and get into a state college or a good university if possible. Is there anything I can get into other than community colleges. I would like to get into Rutgers, do I have a chance? I also volunteer at a hospital and a local rescue squad if that helps. I was also apart of a club my whole junior year. I will be a senior this coming September. Thanks

    Your GPA and test scores are low for the main campus of Rutgers, but you might be able to get into one of the other two Rutgers campuses. If you do well enough there, you could later transfer to the main campus.

Best thing you can do is look at their median stats and see where you fall. Doesn't hurt to apply! The volunteer work definitely helps. Also $$ might help but it's not everything if you can afford to pay your tuition. Do well senior year and you can always retake the SATs too if you're not happy with your scores! I know at 18 all you want to do is move away and live in a dorm and not stay at home going to community college with the bottom of your class but its a LOT cheaper for literally the exact same material. They can be less rigorous too and easier to get a high GPA that stays with you til graduation. The good grades in turn can give you an easier transfer to a rigorous 4 year school. If you can skip all of that and be where you want to be from day 1 that's great but I just wanted to emphasize you have other options! Apply to a variety of places and see how it goes :) Enjoy senior year!
