Is It too late for me to apply to a CSU?
-
So My brother and I graduated in june of 2011 and decided to go straight to community college. WE just started community college and hate it. Bottom line is we fcked up. We really should have gone to a university but didn't. We didn't even take or SAT.. Thing is, Can I apply for a Csu for the next semester or oven the next or any at all If we break our backs and take our SAT and apply properly? I mean we're about to turn 19.. I don't think age would be a factor.. We had good grades in HS and everything.. So is there any good news out there? is there any way we could still go to a CSU? any advice would be immensely appreciated, as there is nobody we really have to ask these sort of questions to.. Thanks a bunch.

Answer:
You will be applying to the Cal States as a transfer student. What you need to give to the CSU in order to apply will depend on how many college credits you will have by the time you enter their university. Some CSUs won't admit you until you'll have 60 college credits behind you, but others will. You can learn what you need to do in order to transfer here: http://www.csumentor.edu/planning/transfer/ Your age isn't a concern when applying to another college. If you are a resident of California, and your HS GPA was above a 3.0, you aren't required to take the SAT to get into some of the CSUs, but you will need them for others. You should check into what's needed at the CSUs you like. You can use this tool, here, to find out which CSU campuses are still accepting applications for Fall, 2012, and which are closed: http://www.csumentor.edu/Filing_Status/Default.asp Select application: Undergraduate, and select enrollment term: Fall, 2012, and it'll give you a list of schools. There are only a few CSUs still accepting applications for fall, so you've got to get moving.

http://www.csumentor.edu/filing_status/Default.asp Pick "undergraduate" and the term you want to start... I'm assuming "Fall 2012." If so, it looks like you've already passed the deadline for most CSUs. I'd say stay at your CC until you can apply for a CSU for Fall 2013. You will be saving a lot of money anyway.
