What are some two years college majors?

To get into U of M Medical, should I finish college in 3 years or replace my AP credit with University-level?

  • I came into Central Michigan University with 31 AP credits, and 19 of those credits are required for admission to U of M's medical school. My advisor took out her medical school book and we read that U of M doesn't accept any AP credit in their medical school, but I just went on their website and it says that they accept it but don't recommend using it. I can barely graduate in 3 years with my two majors if they accept my AP credit, but I will have to stay here for an additional year if they do not. Would graduating college in three years impress the admissions office enough for them to ignore that requirement since I will have the required credits from somewhere else, or should I stay in college an extra year to make sure I get extra classes in those areas? Or do they actually accept AP credit, like their website says? In that case, I would just graduate from CMU in three years and use the small amount of room I have for electives that will better prepare me for the MCAT.

  • Answer:

I would also contact U of M admissions and discuss (not just email) this with a counselor. Find a doctor who graduated from U of M and ask them also. Most doctors have their credentials and university listed if you look them up on line. Where did your personal physician graduate from? Talk to them too.
