What are Computer Specialist?

What degree/certificate is needed to be a computer support specialist?

I have done some research and seen that in order to become a computer support specialist, I'd only need an associates degree. But I'm a little confused. For example at my nearby community college there are 3 main computer programs (http://www.pima.edu/program/cit/) I would guess it would be the Computer Information System. So now there are 2 degrees (, and 2 certificates for that subject, that is where I am confused. Am I supposed to get them all? Do I acquire all of them after completing the necessary courses/programs? Or do I choose one? I am new at this and any help would be appreciated.
