What would be a good topic for an editorial college admission essay?

College admission essay (How does this sound)?

  • I am writeing a college admission essay. (500 word limit) I am useing the quote from Plutarch "Know how to listen and you will profit even from those who speak badly." I am haveing a little trouble organizeing my thoughts in an outline...so far this is what I got -Intro "Know how to listen and you will profit even from those who speak badly." These words weir first spoken by Plutarch the renowned Historian from Ancient Greece. However I found them to be especially helpfule, and it represents something I try to live by. -Body What it meens to me - - - - How I apply this to everyday life. - - Conclusion I am of-course not asking others to write my college app essay for me, i am merely jumbled up and would appreciate some helpfule pointers from anyone experienced in the proces

Personally I find outlines to only hinder my ability to write. I know the topics I need to cover so I simply free-write a paper. Allows more creativity and not such a structured process. Do you, not what they want you to do....unless you enjoy outlines....in which I can only say....I'm sorry ---P.S -- I would edit that quote to say "-speak poorly" because speak badly is in itself, a "bad" way to say that.....made me chuckle when I first read it
