Which culinary school should I go to?

Should I go to Culinary school or Medical school?

  • I am a second year UTSA student planning on getting a B.S in Biology. But my passion for cooking as always been hidden but has grown intensely the past few months. And i now feel like attending culinary school would be the correct thing to do. I feel like switching to culinary and at the same time finishing y B.S in Biology so if worst comes to worst, i still have my B.S. Any ideas or thoughts? Should i switch or stay? My passion is equally shared and i enjoy doing both, but i think i enjoy cooking a tad bit more. But Im not too sure what to do if i finished culinary school!

  • Answer:

Does slicing an onion make you cry? If so, don't go to culinary school. Go to medical school because slicing up people generally doesn't cause tear ducts to malfunction.

Don't go to culinary school. You have to be die-hard passionate about cooking, and I can tell you already have your head in other places.

Well, how important is money to you? If money means a lot to you, go to med school. If you can picture yourself being a chef and enjoying it and maybe not making a ton of cash but being okay with that, then go to culinary school. Your B.S. will only mean anything if you have your ph. d. to back it up. My boyfriend graduated from a Wisconsin school in 07 and decided not to go to med school and still can't find a real job. Lab jobs are really hard to get and basically the only job you can get with a B.S. in bio. Good luck!
