How to start an online math group?

I have to start math all over?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • It was my first time taking the SAT in December, so I was nervous and didn't do too well on the math part; only got a 530. During my high school years of math, I never had problems with math and always managed to pull an A. I'm a senior in Precalculus at the moment and I really want to take calculus classes in college, but I hear that the "Entry Level Mathematics Test" may reset me and make me take math classes I have already taken (and got A's in). From the look at my math grades and a pompous letter of recommendation from a math teacher, can the colleges I applied to see that the SAT test does not accurately reflect my math ability?

  • Answer:

A 530 is not that bad. It is about the 50% percentile. You did better than about half of the other students who took that test. Colleges may have their own math placement tests rather than relying on the SAT. Check the web sites of colleges of interest to you to find out how they decide which math classes students should take.
