University of essex and other uni's?

Hi. Can anyone who goes to essex uni tell me if u do more than one subject in the first year? I want 2 study history, but I also want to study modules from other subjects if I can. Also are there any other uni's like chichester for instance where u can study more than just the subject ur doing ur degree in during the first year? By the way I don't mean joint honours.

I think you're talking about electives. Yes, every university offers electives where you can take courses in random things that interest you (depends on your program, of course but unless you're majoring in Engineering, you should be fine).
