What is a Civil Bill?

Would the 1st Amendment be considered the Bill of Rights as well as civil liberty?

  • This is what our professor has stated what we do for our homework assignment. "Utilizing the Bill of Rights, identify what you believe is your favorite civil liberty. In one or two concise paragraphs, explain the civil liberty of your choice, its location in the U.S. Constitution and why you have chosen said civil liberty." So we have to write at least two paragraphs about explaining one favorite civil liberty that we have chosen. What are other ideas that I could write as for this homework assignment?

  • Answer:

The bill of rights is the first 10 amendments. They enumerate quite a few civil liberties (freedoms).

1) Read the Bill of Rights 2) Make a list of all civil liberties contained therein 3) Select your favorite 4) Write one or two concise paragraphs The First Amendment is not a civil liberty. The First Amendment *contains* civil liberties. One of those would be perfectly acceptable as a topic. If you prefer not to write about those, follow the steps above.
