What is a public health major?

What would be a good major with Health Science major?

• Okay since people on here are ignorant beyond belief ill explain in more detail. I am majoring in health science. The program is described as. The Liberal Arts program (public health emphasis) does not include specific prerequisite courses, but students are encouraged to study in areas such as biology, psychology, anthropology, sociology, economics political science and philosophy. To earn a degree in the Public Health program, students are required to take 30 credits of health science by advisement. Many students in the liberal arts program have a second major (e.g. elementary education, physical education) and/or use the degree as preparation for graduate education. I would like to get my masters in the future and would like to work with something related to environmental toxicology or possibly nutrition or something related to these topics. I was thinking sociology because I would like to possibly become an Environmental Sociologist that relates to the health and toxicology in our environment and how it affects our society and the health of the public. What would be a good major to go along with Health Science based on this?

  From what you've told me, sounds like an environmental studies would pair with health sciences nicely. Perhaps biomedical science, sociology sounds like a good plan too, nutrition would really focus on the whole health/toxicology aspect, when you think of all the crap that goes into our food. So, I think you got the right idea, check out what the names of the courses are you'll need to take, at my university it's called an academic calendar...
