I want to become a pharmacist!?

  • I live in Cleveland, Ohio am a sophomore in high school! I am home schooled and should finish this year around April! My mom is planning on starting me in some college classes next year! I want to be a pharmacist! 1. What is a good college to go to to become a pharmacist? What classes will I need to take in college? 3. What can I do now to get me ready for those college courses? 4.What is required of me to go into this field? What are some things I should know?

  • Answer:

You don't just go to college and become a pharmacist. You need four years of college (in a major such as chemistry), followed by four years of pharmacy school, and finally state licensing examinations. Some universities have a six-year pharmacy program, but those are exceedingly difficult to get into for traditional students, never mind home-schooled students.
