Is DePaul University good?

University of Iowa or DePaul University?

  • I live in Chicago and I am planning to major in the field of business. I have lived here my whole life so I want to move away from everything and just start new somewhere but I would want to work near Chicago after I graduate college. I know DePaul would have more internships and jobs but would I be able to get a job easily coming back from Iowa since it is a very well known school or would it be better to go to DePaul even though I rather be out of state?

  • Answer:

If Chicago is where you want to work, then I would go with DePaul. Both colleges are solid, but going to one over the other isn't going to afford you any name-recognition advantages. Having a connection with a potential employer, which you've built via an internship, however, will help you out after graduation. Also (not that this means much), in the 2010 undergrad b-school rankings DePaul was much higher than Iowa (40 vs. 96).
