Would switching my major to computer science be a good idea that will lead me to great opportunities?

I'm a math education major right now, but not sure i wanna teach high school or go into math in general. i know math is implied in cs, which i started taking a month ago AN LOVE IT!!! Sometimes its hard, but ive never been willing to practice or anything as hard as i do for this in my life. right now im a freshmen, and my parents still want me to be a teacher, but i love computers. are there good jobs for a computer science major. good well-paying jobs? is it a growing field? ALSO!!!Can someone go into the video game job market with a computer science degree?

Regardless what your major may be taking 3/4 computer courses is a must today. The world of business revolves around computers and the person that knows more about them and how best to use them will often be the one to get promotions. As for good computer jobs the field is being over saturated by computer people. What a lot of good computer knowledgeable people are doing is either going into business for themselves or working in the field as a second/part time job. Computer Engineering might be better. Software Engineering Technology is also good.

If you're good at it, that degree will open a lot of doors. And if you love it and are willing to work hard, you're going to get good. As for video games, majoring in straight compsci is actually more desirable than digital art or some trade-school game design certificate. Just work on small projects on the side so you have some experience to point to when you graduate.
