What does it take to become a dermatologist?

If I want to become a (cosmetic) dermatologist, which class should I take in college?

  • Biology or nutrition? What other classes?

  • Answer:

You should probably major in pre-medicine Biology and take a lot of chemistry classes. Nutrition classes are probably a good idea too. You will need to go to med school to be a dermatologist, so study hard and get good grades, at lest a 3.75 (3.5 at a very competitive college) to be a competitive applicant to medical schools in the US. Be sure to get involved with a medical honors fraternity or something like that as well. Edit - if by cosmetic dermatologist you mean someone that does facials, then you would go to cosmetology school and skip real college altogether.
