How difficult is it to become a physicians assistant in the state of california?

PA school is competitive in most states, and California is no exception. But California also has nine accredited programs, so that's in your favor. The science in PA school comes at you fast, and there is little time for remediation. You should study hard to get comfortable with chemistry concepts, as you'll see them frequently. Acid/base chemistry, biochemistry, partial pressures of gases, and the chemistry of electrolytes are topics you'll see and use on a frequent basis. If you're struggling, have you considered hiring a tutor? It's a great way to get individual attention and to work on your personal weak areas. Take the time now to nail the basic sciences down, and you'll not only have a better chance of getting into a PA program, you'll also do better once you're there. In Idaho we need a Bachelor's then two years after that for the PA program. (So, a Masters.) I can't imagine it would be different there. There is a lot of science for anything in the medical field, but if you can get through the few science classes then you'll be great. :)
