What is Legal Studies?

Please HELP!! What can I do w/ a Bachelors in Legal Studies? What can I get a masters in?

  • I am to graduate 2012 with my bachelors in legal studies, but it's depressing to see how much I would be making as a paralegal because the average salary is between 10 and 20 bucks an hour. I can get my LPN in nursing in one year and my start off pay would be $25 an hour. But 4 years in Legal Studies and the pay is less? If I was to graduate, are their jobs that start off with more? What are they ? Should I or Can I get a masters in Legal Studies? What can I major in because their is no masters in Legal Studies?

    Go with nursing. The person who was telling you your potential earnings saw how you form paragraphs and sentences. In the legal world you need to have passed 10th grade English, I doubt you have. Also seeing as you are that deep into a Law program and you can't think beyond what's in front of you, stop pursuing that program and go into nursing. Tunnel vision is a detriment to anyone inside of the law field. To your final question, really? You are in the law field and don't know what the name of the masters program is? I could go to Marine Biology students and get 2/5 of them to say that the MBA is the masters of businesss. You have no excuse being in the program AND nearing completion of that program to fail to understand what the masters degree is. In internet speak; stfu, y u no grammar. YOU'RE TEARING ME APART LISA! gtfo.

Pretty much any major that ends in "studies" has no career prospects. They usually call it that because it's not a real field. A finance major studies finance, but they don't call it "financial studies" because "finance" is a real career field. The reason a paralegal job pays poorly is because you don't need a bachelor's to be a paralegal. Your best bet is to go to law school, which is probably what almost everyone else who majors in legal studies does.

Get into Healthcare. If you can work hard and get a degree to be Physican Assistant.There is going to be a big need for P.Asst. X-ray tech. Physical Therapy anything to do with Healthcare. I also know you want to start out making big money, but you will have to work your way up, Why can't you make it on $10.to $20 a hr. If you can't find a part-time job that will help until you can make it to the salary you want to make.
