What are the requirements for lab technician?

Can you work as a lab technician with a major in biomedical science?

  • can you work as a lab technician with a major in biomedical science? or what major is best to work as a lab technician microbiology?!? or Biomedical Science>>???

  • Answer:

Are you talking about working as a research lab technician? Yes, I would think you could do so with a biomedical science major. Do you want to work with microorganisms or with mammalian cells, tissues, enzymes, nucleic acids, etc.? If you want to work in a hospital laboratory, you would need a different degree, i.e. clinical laboratory science/medical technology.

Other answers

clinical laboratory science, medical technology or in a life science are good choices. Microbiology is a part of a med tech course so just being specific like that although it is beter then nothing wouldnt hold a candle to someone who has a general clinical laboratory science of a sort.
