What grades are permitted in order to become a pastry chef?

Are culinary schools expensive like colleges are?

• My dad still thinks I want to go to college (In 2 years) and get a professional job like he has, but that's not what I want to do. It seems like to much serious work, and I'm more of a person who likes to have fun in what I'm doing. I want to become some sort of pastry chef! My dad keeps telling me how I need to get my grades to A's so I can get scholarships, but I want to go to a culinary school. So I'm wondering, are culinary school just as expensive to attend? Or more? Or less? Is it even possible to gain scholarships to those schools? I haven't told my parents about my decision yet, so I can't ask them. Thanks in advance.

  Hi Lumi. Regardless of what type of college you go to (regular vs. culinary) you still need to get the best grades you can in high school. Especially if you are looking to snag a scholarship. Culinary schools are as expensive as some private colleges, so you might want to look at your local community college to save money. Your parents might be more willing to let you do that as well, because it is cheaper.
