How many colleges should one apply to?

Can i use only one teacher recommondation for all colleges i apply to?

  Well first off, most colleges want more than one recommendation. Two or three is the standard, though every so often you need as many as four, so you'll need 2-4 different people to write letters for you. The typical practice is to ask each teacher to write a letter for you for every school you're applying to. So if you're applying to three schools, each teacher would write you three letters, one for each school. Each application should have a form they want the recommendation writers to fill out in addition to a regular letter, so make sure that when you ask people to write letters for you you also make copies of the recommendation letter form and give copies of each form to each teacher. Ideally each teacher will write a completely separate letter about you for each school, but whether or not they actually do that is up to them.
