What is environmental engineering?

What classes would you take for engineering that would be different than if you went for environmental studies?

• OK so I'm trying to decide if it would be better for me to go to college for environmental studies or environmental engineering (or just civil engineering, and maybe minor in environmental studies). What would be some classes you would take for an engineering major that you wouldn't take for an environmental studies major, and vice-versa? OH and there is this college about an hour away from me where you can get a masters degree in environmental engineering. Could I go to the college in my city for civil engineering, and then go to get my masters degree in environmental engineering at the other place? I'm not sure how that works exactly? The college in my city doesn't offer environmental engineering. They just have civil engineering, and environmental studies...
