What do you think my chances are of getting into Harvard?

  • Okay to start off I going to be a sophomore in about 2 weeks. I didn't do so good in my freshman year, mostly because I didn't look at my future, where I would be in 3 years. But know I am and i was wondering if I could make it into Harvard, these are my freshmen final grades. CP Biology: 83 CP Spanish 1: 86 CP Algebra 1: 86 CP global Studies: 88 CP English: 82 Religion 1: 80 Also going into sophomore year I will be in all CP classes. I'm planning on getting all A's or A+'s sophomore year. Also in Junior year I will hopefully be in all honors and maybe 1 or 2 AP classes. Then senior year I will be in all honors and maybe 2 or 3 AP classes. I also do EC's and sports. I am from a good private catholic school and it's school ranking is more superior to local public schools. With my grades freshmen year and my future goals... what do you think my chances are of getting into Harvard? Thanks!

    To be honest, you don't have the best odds. Your GPA is probably around a 3.5 and classes are just going to get harder. You're going to be competing with people who have a 4.0 GPA and perfect ACT/SAT scores. You already don't have a perfect GPA. Once you lose a 4.0 GPA you can never gain it back.

Okay, first of all, if you want to go to Harvard, you should know that it's vital to use "am" as a linking verb with the pronoun I. Just jivin'. Anyway, you will make it in if you make all A's and get a high score on the SAT/ACT.

With all B's your freshman year, your chances are poor. Harvard only takes a couple thousand new students per year. There's no shortage of straight-A students who want to go to Harvard. Everyone plans to get all A+'s, doing it is the hard part.

very good, if you keep up with your plans.also, they like volunteer work (any college really) so maybe check out a humane center, soup kitchen, hospitol, etc. also, depending on what you want to be, see if you can volunteer with someone with the occupation. (example: if you want to be a lawyer, see if a lawyer will let you come in and see what he does in court of an office or something):D also, i'm a junior this year, soph yr i took on ap class. they are KILLER. so make sure it's a subject you really like/know about
