Where can i go online to study for the ACT or free?

Can I improve my ACT score dramatically from a 29?

  • I just received the results from the February ACT and was extremely disappointed to see a big, bold 29 staring directly at me. I thought I had killed it. Instead, a 23 on the Reading portion destroyed my score. A 30 in science and a 31 in reading were fairly strong in my opinion, but I was surprised to see a 32 in math. I thought for sure I would have gotten a 34+ in math. Anyways, I'm taking the national ACT in April. I'm the kind of student who wants to get accepted to those high reach, ivy-league ish schools. I have the grades (4.4 weighted GPA) and plenty of extra curriculars/leadership positions but I believe a 29 would lead to denial. I've heard that these schools are honestly searching for a reason to deny you. I know I must really jump off the page to admissions officers, so I NEED to improve this score. My goal going into this test was a 33, but seeing as I scored as low as I did, that was not realistic. Maybe I just panicked? Maybe I didn't study enough? Maybe I need to take an ACT class (especially on reading)? If anyone has any advice on the topic, it would be much appreciated. I need ideas, not only relating to the ACT, but also on how to get accepted to schools like Harvard. I want to make a name for myself and I know that getting into prestigious colleges does not determine your life path, but man would it be an accomplishment. The best part is that I probably wouldn't even go because of financial issues. Argh, I needed to vent some of my frustrations with the whole college admissions process. Anyone with any advice on the matter would be welcomed.

  • Answer:

In good kindness, I would be at ease with yourself, don't worry so much about it, especially college purposes, surprisingly it's not the epitome of life. Your an excellent student which is good. But you need to know that knowledge and extracurricular activities cannot shape your world. Just remember who you are, and what your working for, for God named you for a reason. After all, knowledge's purpose was love, anyways.

Study. You can get a 33 if you put your mind to it. Get a good night sleep before the test, eat a decent breakfast, and snack on something during the test (Gum or chocalate) you should listen to music if you can. These little things actually help you.

What's with people's obsession with ivy league colleges? There are plenty of affordable and respectable colleges that aren't Harvard. *rolls eyes* Anyway, you just have to re-take it and study. Maybe purchase an ACT guide. Correct your sleeping schedule if you are like many teens whose schedules are all screwy. Eat a good breakfast. Exercise frequently since they helps the brain. Overall though, practice is the best. You can even take a class on how to do well on the ACT.
