Anyone here ever go to Purdue (or college in general)?
-
I'm currently in the college search/application process, and one of my main choices at the moment is Purdue University. While I've looked at their website and such, I was hoping that I could get some personal accounts or opinions. I was curious if anyone is going there now (or has gone there), and if so, if they could tell me a little bit about it? You know, stuff like campus life, housing, the undergraduate experience, etc. etc. I'd also appreciate any words of wisdom you have about the college experience in general. I'm planning on majoring in nuclear engineering, but as studies show, many college students will change their major 2-3 times so... I'd greatly appreciate any shared advice, tales, or opinions. Aside from Purdue, these are my other colleges of interest so far: - University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign (in-state for me) - Marquette - Knox - University of Wisconsin @ Madison If anyone could share any info or knowledge about any of these colleges, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Answer:
I don't go to Purdue but my cousin went there and got a degree in audiology. He loved it there. As far as college in general. It is fun. It is a lot different then high school and a lot more challenging. I'm in the minority category as I am in my 3rd year of school and have yet to even consider changing my major. Classes are different then high school and a lot more interesting. Good Luck!

Hi right now I attend the University of illinois @ urbana-champaign and let me tell you that this place is awesome. so i'll just go in order based on what you listed. campus life is face paced and amazing. there is ALWAYS something going on and being organized. you can never say that there is nothing to do. trust me on that. there are lectures, movies, parties, get togethers, and tons of other countless things. there are litereally tons of events every day and night. housing is also pretty great. the great thing i love about living on campus is that all students get to ride the local bus system for FREE. campus is huge and the bus is definitely the best way to get around. plus its super easy you can never get lost and the bus driver's are really nice (unlike in the city). housing is pretty great. clean, safe, and many of the residence halls are getting brand new furniture. being an undergradute is nothing like the hs experience. there is really no distinction between freshmen, soph, jun, and seniors. ur either an undergraduate or graduate student. it really makes you feel equal to everyone else. campus is very faced paced and that's what makes it exciting. in terms of majors. don't worry about switching. u of i has an excellent campus advising program. they have super great advisors that can help you find what you need. hope this helps and hope you choose u of i!
i got alot of mails from them, but im not interested. sorry.
