How can I be accepted to UCSB?

Chances in getting accepted to UCSB and USC?

  • Hi, So I'm going to be a junior this year in high school and I'm already thinking about college applications and taking preparation for the PSAT and SAT. The UC schools are definitely my main interest when it comes to colleges, especially UCSB and USC. I will also be applying as a out of state student (I would apply as an in-state student since my dad lives in Newport but I would have to live in CA for at least 6 months to apply as in-state student). I'm just wondering what an ideal GPA and SAT score would be in order to have a decent shot into getting accepted?

  • Answer:

I personally would recommend at least a 4.2 GPA and about 600+ score on each SAT test, judging from the average scores of students that got accepted. But those are only the average GPA's and scores. To really get yourself the best possible chance, go for more than the averages to make yourself stand out from the crowd. (make sure you take good college-prep classes too!) Best of luck to you.
