Is an oral surgeon a good career path?

I want to become a Surgeon in the Air Force from an enlisted start off point?

• The last couple years of high school i've really been trying to figure out what i want to do with my life. (so naturally my grades are not the best.)I've always cared and tried to help people when it comes down to them being sick and i love to help people. Most of my family happens to be in the military and its been a big part of my life. I figured it would be best to become a military doctor and i wanted to join the air force. ~problem~ I'm looking to enlist in the air force (this would be easier financially and mentally), But i am hoping to become a surgeon.I was thinking, once in the air force i can go to collage and med school through them and eventually make surgeon in the ranks of the air force and continue to serve for how ever long.(hopefully this is possible and my train of thought is in the right path?) I do plan on making this a career. Any advice? I have not taken the ASVAB yet, And i believe the requirements are 50(score) at least for the air force medical service apprentice (which i believe is the first step.please correct if i am wrong.) I am willing to do anything to make this career path. its truly a dream of mine and i will do as much work as needed if not more.

When you enroll, you choose which branch you want to be a part of. After graduation and training, you are obligated to serve 7 years active, and 6 years reserve.
