  • Here is my situation.... Fresh year: Honors Bioligy Honors English History Geometry Spanish Electives - Theatre Arts, Drafting/Design, Sports & Ent. Mrtking. I got a 97 or higher on everything Soph: Honors English Honors Science Honors History Honors Algebra 2 Honors Spanish Electives - Business Law, Woodshop I got a 96 or higher on everything Junior: AP English AP Bioligy AP History AP Pre-Calc AP Spanish Business Law 2, Art I got a 98 or higher on everything Senior: AP English AP Bioligy AP History AP Calculus AB AP Spanish Electives - Business Law 3, Journalism Next year..... I am in Mock Trial, Model UN, Young Business Leaders of America, Math Club, Science club, Science National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, National Honor Society, School Newspaper, School President...... I play Basketball and Baseball I am very soicable too 2200 SAT I wrote to the president and got a response when I was 7, I bought a share of Google at 11, and got my first job at 11. I got to a public HS in NJ and rank 1st in my class. They only offer 5 AP's my junior and senior year and 5 honors me freshman and sophmore year If all these are on my resume, can I get into an Ivy?? What should I change/do, is my math course high enough (AP Calc AB), are my electives ok? Could you PLEASE tell me your math course, gpa, ext. if you went to a great college??? I'd appreciate it....

Its difficult to say whether or not you'll get into an ivy league school simply because they are SO competitive. Almost everyone applying has the same statistics (GPA, activities, etc.) and its hard to tell how they pick applicants from this pool. I feel like most people applying to these school are ALL in the most competitive classes, sports, etc. and even most of THESE people don't get in.

Ok, a couple of these things will not matter at all. No admissions committee will care if you are extremely sociable, and no committee will care that you got a response from the president, unless it is about something worthwhile, and since it is was when you were 7, I highly doubt it was.

Meh.

AP Pre-Calc? "Bioligy?" A form letter response from the president as a notable accomplishment? Riiiight. On second thought, maybe you should try Brown or Columbia. They have pretty good creative writing programs. You'll need to improve your spelling, though.
