What are some jobs in the Medical field that dont require needles, blood, operation, etc?

Jobs in the medical field that require a bachelors or masters degree?

  • I originally wanted to become a pharmacist but something changed my mind and I want to be a Physicians Assistant now. But I heard it's really competitive. What kind of jobs in the medical field require a bachelors or masters degree? I'm not too keen on staying in college for over 8 years... I think 6 years is my max. What are a few well-paid, non-brain-exploding-stressful jobs? I also wanted to minor in a foreign language, if possible ^__^ Background: I'm a freshman~ Taking pre-calc, bio, college chemistry, english, economics, civics, latin, and health next year (all honors).

Well I dunno if you'll find any medical field jobs that aren't stressful, but here's a few ideas. You can go into clinical lab, which is a B.S., you can get your nursing degree (which Spanish would probably be very helpful, depending on your area), you can go into public health and do epidemiology or other applied public health jobs. You can definitely use your foreign language skills there to do certain public health projects. You could become a LPN, which is actually better than a PA, because they can have their own practice, which again depends on your certain geographic location. Since you're a freshman though, I would work on your pre-reqs, see if you can become a nurse aid or work in a local hospital or public health department to get experience. You won't really know what you want to do until you do it, and as long as you like your job it won't matter what it is. Good luck!!

Consider a bachelor of science in nursing.

If you're only a Freshman, I'd hold off and take some sample classes, and decide around your second year in. If you're looking for jobs in the medical field, you can always major in linguistics (you mentioned a fondness for languages) and then go get a certificate to be a speech language pathologist. I believe it's only a year certificate out of your bachelor's, and they're in pretty high demand.

I would go with Nursing.
