  • Hey guys I'm going to audition to Berklee this Saturday and I have a few (short) questions in mind. 1. Does Berklee allow you to audition with 'backing tracks'? 2. How do they expect you to play (standing up or sitting on a chair)? 3. Do they have an amp you can plug into? 4. Do they have pedals you can switch an effect? 5. Do you have to apply to audition (via online or something)? 6. What time does the audition start? Thanks in advance!

    1) Yes, you can play with a backing track 2) You can play however you feel most comfortable 3) Yes, there will be an amp for you to use 4) Pedals are most likely not provided, you can bring your own if you need one and will not require much set-up time since this will cut into your audition 5) Yes, you need to apply online in order to be scheduled for an audition. After submitting the online application, you will receive your assigned location and time within a week. Since auditions for the fall are ending and the application deadline was in January, you should fill out the application immediately and you will be assigned an audition slot if there are any remaining. You can not show up to an audition without having been offered and confirmed a slot on that day. Anyone can get into that college. If you're an actual decent musician and you don't have a rich mom and dad to pay for school, then stick with cheaper state schools local to you with decent music programs. That place costs way too much for someone without money to pay for out of pocket or a huge scholarship or grant package.
