What are my chances at University of Florida?

What are my chances for the University of Florida?

  • All right, I'm only a sophomore but UF admissions came out this week and a lot of good senior students that i know did not make it so im just wondering how good my chances are for now.. I am interested in UF and NYU Unweighted GPA: 3.57 Weighted GPA: 4.625 PSAT score index (not that it matters): 169 APs (So far): Spanish Language, Psychology Other classes: I'm currently taking calculus honors, chemistry honors, and the two APs mentioned above. I have 100+ community service hours and i am an officer in a PRIDE (Promoting Relations in Diversity Through Education) and next year aiming to become Education Director of the club (directs a school-wide college fair). I have been a member since freshmen year. I WAS a membeer of Italian Club but lost interest since it wasn't leading anywhere. I haven't joined any school sport teams but next year I'm aiming to join the swimming team since I swim out of school. I haven't taken my SAT yet! But my PSAT scores are included above^^ Please let me know how good my resume for colleges is doing? Any tips for my 2 and a 1/2 remaining years of high school? Thanks :)

It's difficult to get into UF but you're only a sophomore! From the looks of it you really just need to bring up your SAT scores, and maybe your GPA but you have time! Your junior year is what is most important so just stay focused next year. It is not surprising AT ALL that lots of seniors got rejected this year. UF does call a lot of people to ask for applications, but sometimes that has to do with the reputation of the school. I sincerely doubt they would beg for applicants seeing as how they receive nearly 30,000 every year for less than 10000 slots.

UF has become extremely hard to get into in the past few years. There's just more and more competition. I believe the average weighted GPA last year was 4.3 but don't quote me on that. My brother didn't get in and he had about the same academics as you BUT he had no volunteer hours and he only played basketball freshman year. Since you were in some clubs and you're going to join swimming I think you'd have a better shot. Good luck! I want to go there too!

Chances are pretty low seeing as they accept less than 40% of applicants and that UW GPA is just average.

I'm suprised a lot of people didn't get into UF. They were calling everyone at my school, begging for applications. If they send you tons of stuff in the summer then you should apply.
