Is it possible to transfer to a prestigious university?

How can I transfer to a prestigious university in Boston, from a community college?

  • Hello! I just finished off my first summer term at an accredited community college, PHCC. I made a 4.0 gpa so far....and plan to maintain it. I want to finish up my A.A. and then transfer to a really prestigious university particularly in Boston. I'd like to know what are the most progressive universities? What are my chances of getting into one and how can I best increase my chances? Is getting into a university like Harvard a bit easier as a transfer student then a brand new incoming freshmen? Would I still need to take the SAT and write an essay, because I know to transfer to regular state universities you don't need to? I'd really appreciate all the answers and advice I can get! I come from a poor family, but I have big dreams and goals and I'm hard working and self-sufficient. Also, how do I get a student tutoring job? Is that like work-study?

  • Answer:

Transfer admission to Harvard is much more difficult than freshman admission. Prestigious and progressive are not useful words to describe universities.
