What can I do with a Masters Degree in Environmental Science/Studies?

No Speech Path Masters. So which Masters degree should I choose now?

• Didn't get into a Speech Path masters program...now what? I am graduating with a Bachelors of Science is Communication Disorders. This normally leads to speech pathology but I have a 3.1 GPA where most schools are looking for at least a 3.4 or better. So, I am left with two choices: 1) wait till next year to apply again after -trying- to raise my GPA to a 3.23 (best I can do before apply again by January) and retaking the GRE or 2) choose a different Masters Program. I am more interested in option #2 but I have spent hours a day for a week looking into other masters and have only taken a liking the getting my MBA (Masters of Business Administration). I love organization, planning, math, science, and I want to assist and help people to make their lives better. Just because I love all of these things doesn't mean I will be good at all of them in a job setting. I had always been more about passion than money. However, after thinking for 3 years that I was going to be a Speech Path and make $60,000 a year, it’s hard to pick a masters program that would make anything less than $50,000. I am very intelligent, more motivated than most students in my BS classes, and want to make a solid life for myself. Why do I have a 3.1? Because I work near 30-40 hours a week and didn't take college seriously till half way through my sophomore year where I learned to take life seriously or I would waste it. Nursing? No. Health Care Administration? No. Psych? No. Picky? Yes. I want a solid masters degree that I can get into (and enjoy) with the qualifications I already have. I live in Oklahoma and I’m to be married in May. So I need to go to school in OK while my fiancé finishes his engineering degree. I commend you if you read this far.   MBA programs accept students in any undergraduate field. They prefer students who do not have a business major because they give you the business training but they cannot provide the broad background that managers should have. The best majors are in the sciences, engineering, or math, but other majors are also suitable. MBA programs prefer students with 2-3 years work experience after the first degree. Some accept students right out of college if they have good grades and a high GMAT score. Some MBA programs are designed specifically for new college graduates without work experience. But in those programs you don't get the benefit of learning from other students who have work experience. A lot of valuable learning takes place through class interaction. Also when you graduate your job offers will be about the same as a business undergraduate gets because you have no work experience, and you've been two years out of your undergraduate field so it's hard to get work in that area.
