What are my chances with UCI?

What do you think my chances are into getting into UCD, UCI, UCSD, UCLA, UCSB, or UCSC?

  • I'm an incoming senior and I have a weighted GPA of 3.35 in 10/11th grade SAT score: 2080 Haven't taken SAT II's yet. I've taken 3 AP's so far. Plan to take another 3. I would have taken more had there been a wider selection of AP classes. AP scores: World History: 4 US History: 4 Calc AB: 5 Extra Circulars: Swim team for 3 years, Varsity my Junior Year. Key Club for 3 years: 100+ hrs of community service Badminton Club for a year Bike Club for a year Hopefully my essays and recs are good.

  • Answer:

Your low GPA will keep you out of UCB, UCLA, UCSD and probably you will have a hard time getting into UCI and UCSB. Your best bet is UCSC. Since you have to apply by November 30, your senior grades will not be taken into account. Good luck!

your SAT score is very good! and it's great that you passed all you AP classes with high scores. I'm just wondering why your GPA is so low considering how smart you seem to be... (no offense) well with all your extracurricular activites, your high SAT scores, and the AP classes i think you should be fine.. the only bad thing is how low you GPA. I just visited UCSB this weekend and they said their average admitted GPA for this past year was 4.02 But then again it's always hard to tell how strongly they will take your GPA into consideration because of your other good marks.
